الفعل be is one of the most important verbs in English. It helps us talk about who someone is, what something is, where people or things are, and how they feel or look. In English, be has three main forms in the present simple: am, is, ، و are. We use am with I, is with he, she, it (singular subjects), and are with you, we, they (plural subjects). To make these negative, we simply add not after the verb: am not, is not, are not. Learning these forms is a key first step to speaking English.

What is the Verb Be?

الفعل be is very common in English. It helps you describe things and people. It also tells you where things are.

Think of be like “ser” and “estar” in Spanish. English uses only one verb for both ideas.
