Confusing informal and formal words
Sometimes learners use informal words like mum そして dad in very formal situations. It’s usually better to use mother そして father in formal writing or when speaking to someone you don’t know well.
Using ‘child’ for plural
Remember that child is singular (one person), and children is plural (more than one person). Do not say two childs. The correct form is two children.
